Chapter VIII

Grounded Cyberpunk RED

The implant is yours. The title is the company's.

This book uses the Cyberpunk RED rules, adjusted for a world with no immersive net and no outlandish chrome. You need the Cyberpunk RED core book to play: only what changes is here.

What changes in the rules

Fiction Cyberpunk RED with no immersive net and no outlandish chrome.

The grounded catalogue

Fiction The implants that exist in 2126, with fixed Humanity Loss.

These are the implants that exist. There are no retractable blades, cinema-camera eyes or superhuman reflexes: the technology is industrial and serves work.

Humanity + contribute

Humanity starts at EMP × 10 and loses the fixed value of each implant. Current EMP is Humanity divided by 10, rounded down. The build checks this sum on every sheet in the book.

The implant is yours, the title is the company's

Fiction Asset Trace, Repossession and Tolerin: the price of having chrome.

Nearly every implant is financed by the employer, and the contract says it remains company property while there is a balance owed. The balance never runs out.

Roadside clinics + contribute

In the REGESTs there are clinics that remove chips, change asset numbers and fit implants repossessed from other people. Nobody asks where the arm came from.
